Gwen DJ
I was born and grew in the north east suburb of Paris in 1975, I got into music in Seine-saint-Denis area popping around Funk parties taking place in the clubs of the district. In mid 80’s i dicovered House music through a smuggling radio in Paris called F.G (futur generation at that time). i had to get to Vincennes to pursue a cinema course where i met key members of what would become later Mas I Mas crew. After one year spent in Helsinki (Finland), 1993 is the year when i discovered Jungle music, General Levy and Bennie man was on radio but this music was ignored by clubs. I set off to London in 1995 and discovered a real Drum’n’bass culture.
Mas I Mas
Few months later, back in Paris, i made up my mind to take part in Mas I Mas project for the promotion of jungle sound. I began to mix and performed in Grenoble in 1997 but i went through my real training in 1998/99 thanks to huge free parties that my sound system organised during this period.
Willyman
Willyman (Mas i Mas Dj) is one of the most popular and best French Junglist Dj for this couple of years which was a real source of inspiration and training. Nov 99, i released my two first mixtapes. The first one "Strictly junglist" (hardstep sound) and the second one "Le principe de la bobine mobile" (back to back Techno with Charles Tox). Then, i looked first of all to my own harmonious and groovy sound.
Enter the dragon
End 2000/ beginning 2001 is a year of numerous gigs in clubs and festivals. My collaboration with Dj/producer Krak in Dub on miwtape n 5 "Enter the Dragon" is a success and the mix "Mix longue conservation" (mixtape n 6) released end 2001 is a change for my young Dj carreer’s.
Sorting the Funk out of my Drum’n’bass and keeping the sound grooving became my priorities. I took part in the Mezkla Tour (beginning 2002) and performed in Paris and in rest of France on a 12 dates tour with, Total science (UK), 69 db (UK), Fky (Fr), Invaderz (UK), MC Jamalsky (USA), Interlope (Fr)...
Thailand
Always looking for new inspiration and experiences, i prepared a 5 month tour in Thailand beginning 2003. Resident at Whitening club in Koh Tao, I played also in some other islands like Koh Lanta or Koh Phan-gan, sometimes with great artists like Markone, Dj Dragon Dj Dome or Dj Pixy but anyway always with full pleasure. Back in France i started composing my own music.
Galletas Calientes records
Still performing as a Junglist and Nu Break Dj, from 2003 to 2006, i used most of my time creating my own music universe in collaboration with Brunal aka Gloops (No-Tek/Clan des Robots), Krak in dub and Tomdo (members of Mas i Mas). My first EP was released in 2006 with Brunal on Galletas Calientes records 3. The second record "house of blood" is available since january 2007 on Random record 07. First one was groovy electro-breakbeat, the second is a fat drum & bass realese, a huge production with massive synth and unsusual breakz.
Montreal, Canada
My new project is a huge experience, expatriating to Montreal in Canada since May 2007. Searching for new inspirations, new contacts, new scenes, new publics.. My priority target is performing with other electronic musics i rarely had the the pleasure to perform in public like House music, Funk, Trip Hop etc.. Using Serato Scratch Live machine, i can play now over 10 000 rare electronic mp3 tracks..And the beat goes on...
